When it got dark outside last night, we put headlamp flashlights on the older two and watched them have fun on the swing set and zipline. But something happened as they were running back and forth across the yard.... They saw spider eyes.
Of course, they didn't know that's what they were seeing at first, but upon closer inspection, they were indeed shiny spider eyes.
I must admit, I had no idea you could see shiny spider eyes at night. In fact, I thought Sloane and Hunter were incredibly "gifted" at finding spiders until I realized that they could see the spiders' eyes shining as their headlamps shed light across the backyard.
All my years in the outdoors, and I never knew this.
Just goes to show that you really can learn a lot from kids.
