The Mystery Reader
I surprised Sloane's class yesterday morning by showing up after recess to read them a few books. There's no way to explain the look on Sloane's face as I walked into the classroom.
Sure, she was surprised...they all were. But she was also proud. Her daddy was the Mystery Reader!
Talk about a good feeling.
Anyway, I sat in the rocking chair in the reading area, and they sat in front of me as I read a couple of books to them.
The books were nothing special...one was a Berenstain Bears book, and the other was by Shel Silverstein.
But they hung on every word.
And Sloane was front and center...nothing but smiles.
I think I've found my other calling.
I'll be the Mystery Reader anytime you need one, Mrs. King!!
