Back in January of 2010, I was driving back to St. Louis after spending a fews days in Atlanta. As I passed through Chattanooga, TN on I-24, I noticed what looked like a huge, abandoned factory on the left-hand side of the highway. I took the next exit, reversed my direction and drove back to where I saw the factory. I took a few backroads and eventually found my way to it. I'm still clueless as to what used to be there...I suppose if I'd snooped around long enough, I could have figured it out. Considering how cold it was outside, however, I was really only concerned with exploring the factory and getting as many pictures as I could before getting back on the road. I eventually found myself inside, and it was one of the coolest places I'd ever "explored." I tried to imagine what it might have been like before it was shut down. Not knowing really anything about it, though, made the exploring all that more exciting...I literally had no idea what was around the next corner, room or building. When I came to a spot where there seemed to be some kind of crane or contraption that I couldn't figure out, I figured it was a great place to get a shot.

Again, I really have no idea what the place used to be. I'm also really intrigued by the "crane" or "cab" or whatever it is. So if any of you out there know exactly what I took a picture of, please do let me know!!

Regardless, I hope to get back up there one day soon to walk around a bit more when I won't feel so rushed and when the weather is a little warmer.

Something tells me I barely scratched the surface of the ol' place...
