Young Romance

In March of 2010, we took the kids down to Naples, Florida for a few days to see Hadley's family. The weather was cooperative, and the kids got to spend some quality time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. One night while there, we went to a beach party and took the kids. It was an amazing evening, with more food than you can imagine, as well as a band and dance floor set-up on the beach.

Around sunset, the kids were running around and playing on the beach. Sloane had taken to our friends' son, Cook, and she wouldn't let him out of her sight. At one point, she and Cook were playing in the sand together, and I snuck behind them to take a picture. I did ask them to stand up and look at the pretty sunset, and they obliged. But then they turned and looked at each other and held hands. And I started snapping away.

It's always a gamble, in my opinion, when taking pictures looking straight into the sun. If you have the time, you can always play with your settings until you get it right. But in this situation, I didn't want to chance it and miss the shot while fiddling with my camera.

I think it turned out quite well, if I do say so myself...

I took a fair amount of pictures that night and will post some of my favorites soon. Stay tuned...
