On Lightning Bugs

As a kid, there was nothing more fun in the summertime than chasing and catching lightning bugs. My sister and I would spend what seemed like hours, running around with mason jars trying to see who could catch more of the little creatures. Every time I see them, it takes me back to the days of my childhood in Mississippi. And it just feels good.

So when Sloane got excited about trying to catch a few of them, you know I got excited, too.

She's only two and a half, so she doesn't really understand that you can't catch them with two tiny fingers. No success meant a bit of frustration, but that's okay.

I had more fun watching her than anything else.

Better luck next time, baby girl. Oh, and there will definitely be a next time...
